Our Night Sky
The night sky constantly shifts as the Earth rotates around the sun, which means each stargazing experience is unique. But no matter the season, you can expect to see brilliant constellations, star clusters, nebulae, and our nearest galaxies.
Our astronomy calendar also details special celestial events like new moons (when the sky is darkest), meteor showers, and visible planets.
The greater desert surrounding Palm Springs has some of the lowest light pollution levels in the United States, creating ideal stargazing conditions. However, to provide the best stargazing experience possible, we don't schedule tours the day before, day of, or day after a full moon, as many constellations and the Milky Way aren't visible.
