Perseids Meteor Shower

The Persieds are one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. It is a result of the Swift Tuttle comet, which was discovered in 1862. The shower runs annually from July 17th-August 24th but the peak days to observe it this year are the 12th and 13th of August.
